Sr Analyst-Accounting

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger.

• Prepares and posts journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews.
• Researches and analyzes large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
• Ensures general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes‑Oxley.
• Leads accounting initiatives/projects including process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy.
• Mentors less senior staff.
• Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
• Four (4) years experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for‑profit corporate environment.
• Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards required.
• Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web‑based applications.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.

This position will be domiciled at a Fed Ex Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a Fed Ex Freight location several times per week.
