Operations Manager
Director of Engineering at Halex

KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior management in the development of performance goals and long‑term Engineering plans.
- Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Work with senior management in the development of financial and budgetary plans.
- Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending improvement solutions where appropriate.
- Adhere to the company’s policies and standards and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
- Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
- Partner with the operations team to drive increases in production efficiency.
- Coach the team to be a positive source of influence, leading their teams by example.
- Lead the facility quality and engineering efforts to produce world‑class products.
- Manage ECN process and all sustaining engineering projects, such as cost‑out programs, new customer onboarding, and private label program development.
- Lead NPD program, such as electrical disconnects, AC whips, and conduit fittings.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Independent thought, good judgment, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects are a must.
- Must have a proven track record in leading people and production in a high‑volume, durable goods manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen teams, and standard work methodology.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software such as MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of successful performance management techniques and ability to apply the organization’s performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Knowledge of the decision‑making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Understanding of the importance of insightful listening and communicating, and the ability to provide information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact.
