Fitness Trainer

Job Summary

The Fitness Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

• Recruit new and existing members to take classes.
• Log classes after each session.
• Actively assist members on walk‑arounds.
• Clean assigned section of equipment each shift.
• Perform locker room checks every 15 minutes, including beginning and end of shift.
• Serve as a brand ambassador by promoting a Judgement‑Free lifestyle.
• Uphold rules and policies in the facility.
• Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to use equipment safely.
• Create bi‑weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist with front desk activities:
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
  • Check members into the system.
  • Process new member sign‑ups.
  • Take prospective members on tours.
• Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and, if needed, elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager.

• Must be trained on tours, information calls, Datatrak, customer service expectations and have completed mandatory Planet Fitness University courses.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Nationally credited training certification required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be punctual and reliably flexible for overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must represent the core values of PFMW at all times.
• A passion for fitness and health, paired with an upbeat and positive attitude.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to exceed member expectations.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize and problem‑solve.
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions with appropriate behavior and language.

• Continual standing and walking during shifts.
• Continual talking in person or on the phone during shifts.
• Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, pulling, and grasping; never place oneself under equipment.
