ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician to join our Harrisonburg team. We offer opportunities for professional development with additional incentives as you advance your skills and gain experience. In this role, you'll collaborate and develop with experienced project management professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks in the Field Services department.
Responsibilities- Field
Activities:
Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites. Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers. - Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field tests for various materials using industry-standard methodologies and testing equipment.
- Data Collection: Perform calculations, data reduction, and document findings with precision in field reports.
- Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers. Keep teams informed of site conditions and additional testing needs. Attend project meetings as requested.
- Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings according to engineering practices.
As your experience grows, ECS will support you in enhancing your skills and encourage participation in training programs and certifications from organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, State DOTs, WACEL, and others.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Current basic certifications and willingness to obtain 2 advanced certifications
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus
- Ability to lift 40–70 lbs multiple times a day and occasionally up to 85 lbs
- Valid driver's license and insurance
- Reliable transportation to job sites (mileage reimbursed)
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of heavy construction safety practices
- Proficiency with electronic devices
- Strong math skills and ability to interpret plans
- Basic knowledge of MS Office
