General Information

The Department of Health Professions invites applications for a tenure‑track Dietetics position (Assistant/Associate Professor) to begin July 2026. The Dietetics program comprises an undergraduate Didactic Program and the ACEND‑accredited Applied Nutrition graduate program. The successful candidate will assume the role of Program Coordinator for the Applied Nutrition graduate program and work collaboratively with faculty across the Department of Health Professions and other CHBS departments.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Dietetics and Applied Nutrition.
  • Serve as the program coordinator for the ACEND‑accredited Applied Nutrition graduate program.
  • Lead programmatic curriculum development and assessment of the graduate program.
  • Coordinate and oversee graduate supervised experiential learning sites.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students, including documentation of graduate capstone projects.
  • Maintain scholarship and service activities at the department, college, university, and professional levels.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credential.
  • A doctoral degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a closely related field (ABD candidates acceptable with degree expected within six months of start).
  • Record of clinical dietetics practice.
  • Experience mentoring students in an academic or professional setting.
  • Commitment to interprofessional education and effective teaching pedagogy.
  • Record of scholarly agenda and professional development.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching a variety of nutrition and dietetics courses, including medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition coursework.
  • Leadership experience in nutrition and dietetics, especially leading accredited programs or supervising students in practice settings.
  • Research and scholarly experience sufficient to meet department expectations.
  • Evidence of professional service.
