The Center for Assessment and Research and the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University invite applications for a tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Assessment Specialist and Assistant/Associate Professor position in Assessment & Measurement. The appointment is instructional/teaching faculty, full‑time, and year‑round (12‑month). The role supports campus assessment activities and the Assessment & Measurement PhD program, which prepares professionals in assessment and measurement.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Teach two measurement, statistics, or research design courses per academic year (e.g., modern research design, quasi‑experimental designs, causal inference, propensity score modeling, missing data techniques).
- Advise graduate students and serve on dissertation and thesis committees.
- Maintain a program of research focused on contemporary quantitative methodology.
- Allocate approximately 40% of time to JMU’s outcomes assessment activities.
- Doctorate in a relevant field.
- Credentials and scholarly record in assessment, measurement, statistics, or research design (commensurate with rank).
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Teaching ability in measurement, statistics, or research design and advising of graduate students in these areas.
- Experience in educational assessment or consulting is a plus.

- Submit copies of selected research publications.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
