Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty
Position:
Tenure-track or non‑tenure-track Assistant Professor of Counseling
- PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP‑accredited program; ABD candidates considered at instructor rank.
- Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia preferred.
- Teach graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling (typically 3–4 courses per semester).
- Provide leadership for clinical practicum and internship placements.
- Engage in ongoing academic scholarship, including research collaborations with students.
- Remain current in the field and best practices in counselor education.
- Provide faculty service to EMU at the departmental and university levels, including advising, mentoring, and committee participation.
• Nine‑month contract. 24 semester hours per year.
• Salary determined by education and experience. EMU uses a tenure‑with‑review contract system. A track record of active, inclusive, student‑centered teaching is preferred.
• Applicants must have a strong commitment to serving and working within a community of diverse learners.
• Positions begin mid‑August 2026. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
