General Information

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at James Madison University is accepting applications for part‑time faculty to teach a variety of chemistry and biochemistry courses. Our department currently serves about 3,000 undergraduate students each year. We offer a wide variety of courses for chemistry majors, other STEM majors, general education, and pre‑health professional students. We embrace access, inclusivity, and diversity because they are the foundational cornerstones of an outstanding education and environment for students, faculty and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will teach lecture or laboratory classes in their area of specialty. There is the greatest need for instructors in general education courses as well as laboratory instruction in general chemistry.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is preferred or a M.S with at least 18 hours of graduate course work. A demonstrated commitment to an inclusive learning environment is required.
