Engineer I – Architectural Service Team (AST) – Arconic – Harrisonburg, VA

Arconic is looking for an Engineer I – Architectural Service Team (AST) to join our Kawneer team based in Harrisonburg, VA.

As an Engineer I – AST, you will be the go-to expert providing consulting services for product solutions to potential customers. You’ll guide them through specs, systems, and solutions to support the design professionals’ performance and aesthetic requirements, ensuring Kawneer products are seamlessly integrated into world-class projects.

• Review and understand architectural design drawings to provide appropriate technical solutions for project-specific requirements.
• Provide timely responses to architects, designers and specifiers via email, phone and web inquiries.
• Provide standard, modified and custom detail information to design professionals for project-specific requirements.
• Utilize the company website to assist design professionals.
• Work closely with the commercial sales organization to maximize promotional opportunities to close bid projects.
• Identify and communicate emerging market and/or product needs to the product management group.
• Promote new products whenever possible.
• Counsel customers on matters of product selection, product application and installation processes.

• Ability to read and understand architectural construction documents and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles and concepts.
• Proven technical proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers.
• Maintaining knowledge of building and construction and/or architectural industry.
• Results-oriented, capable of multitasking and working independently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well in a team environment, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in technical sales, product engineering, product development, or application engineering.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction from an accredited institution.
• 2 years of experience in technical sales, product engineering, product development, or application engineering.
• Previous experience working with Curtain Wall, Window Wall and/or SEF systems.

This position will operate in person in a professional office environment in Harrisonburg, VA.
