Job Description:

The Radiology Tech performs digital X-ray studies on patients per provider orders. The X-Ray Tech assists in patient care under the direction of the provider and will travel to Bon Secours Urgent Care centers within the market as determined by leadership.

Essential Functions:

• Safely performs provider-ordered radiographic examinations, including proper patient positioning and radiation protection.
• Sets up and adjusts supportive equipment and devices as required.
• Accurately documents patient encounters within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Determines and selects proper technical factors to safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment.
• Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs.
• Directs and practices sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination of disease.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Performs other duties as needed, including ordering supplies, lab and diagnostic tests, and patient registration.

Employment Qualifications:

Education: 2-year/associate degree required. Completion of an approved X-Ray Technician certification program and registration with the American Registry of Radiographic Technologists (ARRT) are required. Virginia State Licensure is also required.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of Imaging and/or Medical Assisting experience preferred.
