Who is VMRC?VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. Job Qualifications- Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
- Licenses/Certifications:
Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification - Education:
Graduate of an accredited therapy program
- Works effectively to comply with policies of all VMRC areas. Works collaboratively with team members to meet resident needs across the VMRC campus.
- Effectively works with other members of the VMRC team to provide in-service’s and education to meet individual resident/patient needs according to standard, regulations, gaps in service delivery and initiatives.
- Provides services under the direction of licensed physical therapist.
- Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
- Administers treatment programs for residents and patients.
- Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.
- Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
