Job SummaryWithin the Mission and Strategic Plan established for Friendship Industries, Inc. and Able Solutions, Inc., the Facilities Assistant/Material Handler is responsible for material movement and performing operator assisted maintenance tasks. In addition, the Facilities Assistant is responsible for supporting production as directed by the Production Supervisors or Commercial Operations Managers. Friendship Industries, Inc. and Able Solutions, Inc. Facilities Assistants must show initiative, collaboration and determination when working on the production floor.
SpecificResponsibilities and Duties Production
- Read purchase orders and then select the correct materials from the staging area for the production lines.
- Ensure that production lines do not have unnecessary down time due to waiting on movement of materials (Both incoming goods and finished pallets).
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks under the guidance / training if the Facilities Manager.
- Assist in the setting up of lines / moving equipment during production runs.
- Safely operate a powered lift.
- Demonstrate proper energy control when performing maintenance tasks / inspections.
- Move materials in a manner that maintains integrity of items, not creating undue stress or damage.
- Inspects pallets and materials for defects.
- Models a commitment to safety and quality.
- Complete production records.
- Maintain Maintenance logs.
- Must be able to work effectively with any size team, or alone with minimal supervision.
- Be a dynamic thinker who can assess the production needs and prioritize the work accordingly.
- Participate in meetings as required, providing information and input as needed.
- Be an integral part of the solution process in determining scheduling and production.
- Review production on a daily basis with Supervisor. Set daily priorities according to the decisions made at that time.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Schedule required 5:30 a.m. – End of Shift.
- Can be an irregular schedule which may include weekend and holiday work schedules.
- Able to stand, bend, and twist throughout shift.
- Able to lift 25 lbs. consistently throughout shift.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Minimum 1-year Production Experience.
- Strong math, reading and writing skills.
- Work in a professional manner at all times.
- Abide by attendance policy- maximum of 4 attendance points.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work as a cohesive member in a team setting.
- Operate a pallet jack and powered lift.
