Pay$53,564 Salary, commensurate with experience. 2nd shift weekdays $3.50/hr Shift Differential.
Job Duties- Provide direct patient care in a safe, therapeutic environment for a specific patient population in a 24/7 psychiatric hospital.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care.
- Provide work direction to PNA staff under supervision of an RN.
- Maintain accountability in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
- Create healthy interpersonal interactions on adult acute admissions, geriatric, and extended rehabilitation service units.
- Observe and report feedback regarding interventions, treatments, behaviors, physical and emotional wellbeing, and other situations.
- Document and communicate care activities.
- Use specialized training to promote mental wellness recovery.
- Prioritize time to meet patients’ needs and provide direct patient care duties as assigned, including medication administration.
- Implement all individual treatment plans.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and document patient education and responses per policy and procedure.
- Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities, including medication administration.
- Ability to implement nursing care plans and provide guidance to other staff.
- Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff; effective written, verbal, and sign communication.
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Willingness to work overtime during staffing emergencies, including potential 16‑hour shifts in a 24/7 psychiatric setting.
- Complete all annual competency training, including TOVA III with physical restraints.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers with the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrate knowledge of recovery/trauma‑informed care.
- Psych Nursing experience.
- Veteran or Veteran Spouse.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
