Venture Builders is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Carpenter Helper who enjoys hands-on construction work, works well with a team, and takes pride in maintaining a professional presence in clients’ homes.

The Carpenter Helper position is ideal for someone with construction experience who wants to continue developing their carpentry skills while contributing to quality remodeling and home improvement projects throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

As a Carpenter Helper, you will support residential remodeling and construction projects by assisting with material preparation, installations, repairs, and general carpentry tasks.

• Select, prepare, and pick up materials needed for construction and remodeling projects.
• Read blueprints when available and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Work with construction materials, including wood, plastic, fiberglass, paint, and drywall.
• Safely operate and use hand tools for a variety of carpentry tasks.
• Fasten and join materials using nails, screws, staples, and adhesives.
• Measure and align materials using tape measures, levels, plumb bobs, and framing squares to ensure accurate, level, and secure installations.
• Assist with building stairs, mantels, and furniture.
• Install cabinets, molding, partitions, doors, and windows.
• Replace glass panes, ceiling tiles, and doors as needed.
• Assist with residential and commercial remodeling projects.
• Work on ladders and erect scaffolding as required.
• Follow all company safety rules and established work procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.

Successful candidates should have:

• 1–3 years of construction experience.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic carpentry tasks.
• The ability to read blueprints when available and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A dependable, self-motivated attitude and a professional approach to working in clients’ homes.
• A clean driving record.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
• A commitment to following safety rules and maintaining a safe work environment.
