DescriptionThe Mental Health Technician delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care by performing a variety of basic services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Behavioral Health Technician plays an important role in the implementation of nursing care plans, providing direct and indirect patient care in compliance with hospital policies and State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

Responsibilities- Provide care and close supervision to psychiatric patients.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing vital signs throughout the care cycle.
- Document and report any physical or behavioral changes at the time of occurrence.
- Actively participate as part of the treatment team, following facility policies and procedures.
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in BLS required upon hire and must be maintained.
- C.N.A. preferred.
- Prefer one year of inpatient psychiatric experience.
- Medical terminology and clerical background preferred.
