Role PurposeThe Senior Cold End Process Engineer will lead the advancement of Gorilla Glass manufacturing technologies, focusing on the final stages of the production process. This role demands deep expertise in process engineering, data analysis, and experimental design to drive innovation, resolve complex process challenges, and support global technology migrations. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams to ensure process stability, scalability, and continuous improvement, while documenting critical learnings and contributing to Corning’s intellectual property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance to the Gorilla Glass processes.
- Provide direction and leadership with new glass and technical migration across the Gorilla Glass fleet.
- Lead experiments to develop fundamental understanding of the process and provide change recommendation based on results.
- Define and execute start-up plans for new glass and new technology migrations.
- Lead problem‑solving sessions as necessary to resolve issues during different stages of process evolution (development, engineering, manufacturing).
- Lead new process technology introduction through different stages (development, trial and experimentation, migration).
- Utilize process engineering skillsets (process data analysis, root cause analysis, MEE, etc.).
- Maintain a systematic approach, build understanding of interfacing processes.
- Collect and document fundamental knowledge, process learning, and IP.
- Provide day‑to‑day problem‑solving support to production, development and research operations.
- Job is based in Harrodsburg, KY, USA.
- Up to 25% domestic and global travel.
- Office hours are typically 8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday.
- Full time (40 hours per week), but great flexibility required given the globally dispersed nature of the team and project timelines.
- Teleconferences are likely during early morning or evening hours.
- Night/weekend flexibility is expected during process start‑up activity.
- B.S. or equivalent in engineering
- 2+ years of progressive experience in process engineering
- Experience working in manufacturing plants and industrial research facilities
- Consistent record of solving difficult process problems
- Project leadership skills – vision, planning, and execution.
- Expertise in heat transfer, glass forming, mechanics, material handling and transport, and process engineering fundamentals.
- Experience/understanding in glass properties, glass cutting or scribing.
- Expertise in design of experiments and analysis of data.
- Problem‑solving skills demonstrated through troubleshooting on product or process related issues.
- Experience with OSI PI data systems.
- Solid foundation in Process Engineering and expertise in data analysis and experimental methods.
- Ability to influence technical direction via communication and relationships from a remote location
- Ability to handle ambiguity, changing priorities and changing requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well‑developed skills in working across multiple cultures and on a globally dispersed and diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with globally distributed researchers, engineers across multiple divisions, and Corning’s commercial organizations.

Salary Range: $83,750.00 – $ (full time). Starting pay is dependent on a variety of factors.
