Job DescriptionThis role focuses on process improvements within the Final Assembly area for Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The engineer will employ mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to boost efficiencies, work with automated assembly equipment including robotics (Fanuc and Yamaha) and PLCs, and support the implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule.
Responsibilities- Manage projects focused on process improvements in the Final Assembly area.
- Lead initiatives to reduce defects and enhance processes.
- Specify and procure new equipment as needed.
- Employ mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to improve efficiency.
- Work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics (Fanuc and Yamaha) and PLCs.
- Utilize AutoCAD or Solid Works to modify existing equipment, tooling, or fixtures.
- Create and update documentation for team members and maintenance crew.
- Review data collected on processes using SQL databases.
- Assist in implementing preventive maintenance schedules for maintenance staff.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in Solid Works or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Competence in mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with process improvement techniques.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or related field.
- Experience with Fanuc robot programming.
- Knowledge of PLC ladder logic, particularly Keyence, AB, and Hitachi brands.
- Capability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with C++, Visual Basic, surface‑mount technology, plant layout, CPK studies, product launches, Kaizen, and fixture design.
The role is based in an electronic manufacturing facility featuring mostly clean‑room environments, requiring smocks and ESD shoes. It involves cross‑functional work with Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The position involves a mix of on‑floor and desk work.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pay and BenefitsHourly rate: $31.25 – $38.00
