Key Responsibilities Process and maintain accurate financial transactions across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), sales, purchases, and inventory movements. Prepare and process supplier payment runs (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly), including ad hoc and sundry payments, ensuring accurate allocation within Sage Line 50. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through timely and accurate transaction processing. Perform bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions (USD and EUR), investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure effective balance sheet control and accurate financial records. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis. Monitor cash flow and support effective cash management and liquidity planning. Prepare VAT returns, statutory filings, and audit schedules, providing supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Produce KPI reports and provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as required.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Build strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders, resolving financial queries efficiently. Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls. Key Skills and Experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger processes. Experience in financial transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality work. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to investigate issues and provide solutions. Ability to interpret financial information and identify opportunities for improvement. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
