Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum

Castle Employment is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a business based in Harrogate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied finance role, has a keen eye for detail and is looking to further develop their accounting skills.

The Role As Assistant Accountant, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records and investigating discrepancies
• Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
• Supporting VAT returns and other financial reporting requirements
• Working closely with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies

About You We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
• A good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ideally, AAT qualifications or someone studying towards ACCA/CIMA, although relevant experience will also be considered
