Be a part of it at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate, a long‑established mental health hospital that provides an emergency admissions service across two acute wards. The hospital is located in a pleasant North Yorkshire spa town, easily accessed by road and rail.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and collate information for submission to the Finance Department on strict timescales.
  • Provide high‑standard organisational and administrative support.
  • Produce daily reports and bed statistics, including funding authorisation documentation.
  • Ensure all new admissions have the necessary funding from the outset and submit daily funding details (admission and specialist nursing costs) to the Group accounts department.
  • Maintain a diary system for all funding requests.
  • Promote and uphold the hospital’s reputation, acting as a positive role model and maintaining a professional attitude toward clients, families, visitors and staff.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records using computer and manual systems; promptly forward required paperwork to NS Billing for patient admission, specialist nursing and travel expenses.
  • Manage patient fee variations, discharges and, where applicable, reception cover.
  • Maintain accurate records of all petty cash transactions.
  • Process all payroll information on a weekly basis.
  • Order and keep records of staff uniforms.
  • Process and review suppliers’ invoices and statements on a weekly basis.
  • Operate office equipment (fax, photocopier, computer) and provide administrative services to the management team.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to enquiries in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Provide administration support to all hospital disciplines, meeting deadlines and compiling reports for reviews and meetings.
  • Take meeting minutes as required.

Qualifications
  • Experience as a Funding and Payroll Administrator in health care, with knowledge of mental health services.
  • Flexible, organised, able to prioritise workloads, solve problems, and make decisions.
  • Calm under pressure and able to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Windows and the internet.
  • Required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
