Labourer – Day Rate

Rates range from £120 to £150 per day, based on experience. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, located in Harrogate and surrounding North Yorkshire areas. A full UK driving licence is required.

HG Construct is a well‑established building company based in Harrogate, delivering high‑quality residential construction projects across the North Yorkshire area. We specialise in house extensions, loft conversions, barn conversions, structural alterations, home renovations and property improvements. Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, reliability and excellent customer service, largely through recommendations and repeat business.

This hands‑on position works alongside experienced builders and tradespeople on a variety of residential construction projects. No two projects are the same, offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to gain experience across different aspects of the building trade. You will support the team throughout all stages of construction, helping to ensure sites operate safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

• Assist builders and tradespeople with daily site activities
• Prepare work areas before construction begins
• Load, unload and move building materials
• Deliver materials, tools and equipment to site
• Keep sites clean, organised and safe at all times
• Assist with demolition and site clearance work
• Support groundwork and construction activities as required
• Operate hand and power tools safely
• Help with the set‑up and dismantling of site equipment
• Follow health and safety procedures and site instructions
• Respect customers' homes and maintain a tidy working environment
• Work closely with colleagues to help projects stay on schedule

• Previous labouring or construction experience preferred
• Good practical skills and a willingness to learn
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Own transport preferred due to travelling between sites
• CSCS card advantageous but not essential
