Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in a SEND school in Harrogate, supporting children aged 2–19 with PMLD, ASC, and elements of challenging behaviour.

Relevant experience or strong transferable skills are essential. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND needs. The role is highly rewarding and suited to those who are committed to making a meaningful difference for children with additional needs.

The normal working pattern for this school is 8:45 to 3:50pm and would be a long-term role given a successful trial day.

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Have experience working in a transferable role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Some experience working with or alongside pupils that have SEND
• A compassionate, resilient and patient personality
• A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
• Be familiar with some tailored interventions and programmes that are used to support children and young people with PMLD, ASC and/or challenging behaviour
