Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are partnering with an excellent special needs school in Harrogate, committed to supporting students with a variety of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school fosters an inclusive and supportive environment, where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a variety of SEN, helping them engage in lessons and activities.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans that meet the individual needs outlined in students' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support students in managing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, helping them develop skills for positive engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with the SENCO to implement inclusive strategies within the classroom environment.
• Encourage students to grow in confidence and independence as they progress in their learning journey.

• Experience working with students with SEN, ideally within a school setting.
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with additional needs.
• A passion for education and a commitment to helping students overcome their challenges.
• The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

• Have the Right to Work in the UK.
• Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
