Teacher of MFL (Spanish)

0.6 FTE, maternity cover, MPS/UPS

Do you want to work in a school where the behaviour and attitudes of students is outstanding, a school which is driven by strong values, a caring ethos and a commitment to educational excellence, and where each and every student knows the gift of life in all its fullness? Furthermore, a school where extra-curricular success is amongst the highest in the country and student outcomes are well above national average.

St Aidan’s Church of England High School is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Teacher of Spanish to join its high-performing faculty of Social and Cultural Studies. This is a maternity cover position, starting after the October half term.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring classroom practitioner to teach Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a thriving and popular faculty known for strong outcomes and a dedication to excellence. The ability to contribute to other subjects within Social and Cultural Studies would be advantageous.

You will bring an innovative approach to teaching and curriculum development, a strong commitment to raising achievement, and a determination to promote high expectations for all students. You will be an effective communicator, a positive team player, and an active contributor to both departmental and whole-school life.

You will join a highly supportive and collaborative faculty and benefit from a rich programme of professional development tailored to your career stage. Opportunities include dedicated ECT support where appropriate, in‑school training, external middle leadership pathways, online learning platforms, Trust‑wide development through the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, and access to the Leeds for Learning partnership. You will have the opportunity to teach motivated students in a school that invests in its staff and celebrates both academic success and personal growth.

Completed applications should be submitted via My New Term by 9am on Thursday, 25th June 2026. A Job Description and Person Specification detailing the requirements of the role are also available to download for your reference.

Interviews will take place on Friday, 3rd July 2026.
