As an Engineering Geologist
, you’ll play a pivotal role in every stage of the project from inception to completion, from managing clients and subcontractors, being on‑site working with our team to complete testing and supervising site investigation or working in our office to review data and complete accurate interpretive reports, no two days will be the same.
You will be working within a supportive and collaborative team across a wider range of geological settings and ground hazards, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK.
This role offers a mixture of office and site‑based work based around the UK where no two weeks are the same. We have offices based in vibrant parts of the UK, whether it be the hustle and bustle of Central London, the South Coast or the picturesque market towns of Harrogate and Tiverton.
Our dynamic team delivers projects of all shapes and sizes — from major infrastructure schemes to local commercial and residential developments — giving you the chance to broaden your experience and develop your skills quickly.
What You’ll Be DoingThis is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You’ll join our expert team to:
- Support intrusive investigations (e.g., drilling, sampling, in‑situ testing)
- Log soils and rocks to BS standards
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Keep detailed site records, complete RAMS, and manage H&S documentation
- Report writing and data interpretation skills
- Take ownership of site activities, with strong support from experienced mentors as well as mentoring graduates
- Maintain accurate site records, logs, and daily reports
- Liaise with engineers, contractors, and clients on site
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications, standards, and method statements
- Data processing and report preparation as required
Enthusiastic, engineering geologists who:
- Have a relevant degree in geology, engineering or similar
- Have 1+ year(s) in ground investigations
- Thrive on working outdoors, independently and in teams
- Have knowledge and understanding of safe working and SHEQ Culture
- Have a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel/stay away as needed
- Have experience of direct exposure to site works, decision making, risk assessment, basic design and implementation of projects
You may also have:
- CSCS Card, First Aid, EUSR HSG
47 CAT 1 & 2 - Awareness of environmental legislation or industry H&S best practices
