About

The Role Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed support and safety planning to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, particularly those in emergency or temporary accommodation.
  • Work in partnership with housing teams and other agencies to secure safe housing and advocate for clients’ rights and wellbeing.
  • Support individuals fleeing abuse with advice on housing, benefits, and legal protections, including referrals to specialist services.
  • Manage a small caseload and ensure smooth transitions to longer-term community support.
  • Liaise with multi‑agency partners and contribute to MARAC, MATAC, and MAPPA processes to manage and elevate risk appropriately.
  • Make referrals for target hardening and help clients remain safely in their homes where appropriate.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the needs of all communities, including those who are underrepresented or marginalised.

Contract:

Fixed term until March 2028 – with possibility of extension depending on funding

Location:

Co‑located in council housing team and IDAS offices. 2 positions available, one in Scarborough and one in Harrogate.
