Mental Health Support Worker

Adult Supported Living Ltd. are a small company and have been providing mental health supported living services for twenty seven years in Harrogate. Our services enable adults with mental health difficulties to lead fulfilling lives, as independently as they are able. The role requires the provision of person-centred support with everyday aspects of living such as community activities, medication, visiting the G.P., living skills, managing finances, hygiene, domestic tasks, shopping, meals, diet and social activities.

It also includes providing the behavioural and emotional support required to manage the service user's mental health condition. The role does not include personal care or manual handling.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate responsibility, initiative, dependability, self-reliance and team working skills. The position is a lone working role, at 2 houses, with support from the manager and on-call. The work involves shared support of a household of 4/5 people and also 1:1 support work. Experience is beneficial, but not essential, an engaging, caring, person centred, creative approach is highly valued.

Training opportunities are provided to obtain recognised Health and Social Care qualifications. Flexibility is required as the role includes working on a rota that covers evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Location – Harrogate (Starbeck area).

Part time – Approximately 35 hours per week of shifts plus sleep-in night. Some weekend and bank holiday working required, alternated fairly throughout the staff team.

Role includes some short shifts so applicants must live in the Harrogate area.

Hourly Rate £13.05 per hour, sleep in night rate £78.30.
