JOB ROLE: HR Business Partner
JOB LOCATION: Harrogate, Kirkburton and Shepley
REPORTING TO: People Operations Manager

Shepley Spring are the UK’s leading bottled water manufacturer with over 20 years’ experience in production and are proud to remain a family run business to this day.

The company operates in three manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Lidl, Booker Tesco and Sainsbury through private label and produces the brands Ice Valley® and White Rock® exclusively.

Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of the company’s people strategy in line with business objectives. Working closely with the People Operations Manager, department heads, and site management teams, the HRBP provides professional HR guidance, ensures alignment between business goals and HR practices, and supports managers in driving engagement, performance, and development across all levels.

The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters, ensuring consistent application of HR policies, promoting a positive and inclusive culture, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes within Shepley Spring.

Job Specification
  • Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with line managers and employees to provide HR advice and guidance that supports business objectives.
  • Partner with management to identify people challenges and deliver practical, compliant, and effective solutions.
  • Employee Relations: Support the People Operations Manager in handling employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases, investigations, performance management, and absence management. Ensure all cases are managed fairly and in line with company policies and employment law.
  • Performance & Development: Assist The People Operations Manager in the implementation and monitoring of performance management systems. Assist with setting objectives, delivering feedback, and identifying development needs. Promote training initiatives and succession planning in line with organisational goals.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices. Support the review, development, and implementation of new policies in line with current legislation and company objectives.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture: Work collaboratively with the People Operations Manager to develop and implement engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication strategies that promote inclusion, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.
  • HR Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems. Support the preparation of HR metrics, including absence, turnover, and engagement data, providing insights to inform decision-making.
  • Benefits & Administration: Assist with the coordination and communication of employee benefits programs. Support the annual review of benefits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR service delivery, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • CIPD Level 5 or working towards
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a generalist or HR Business Partner role
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organisational skills
  • Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced operational environments (essential)
