Estates Multi Skilled Technician - Water Safety

The role will provide support to the Estate Manager (Mechanical) of E&F and the wider Estates and Facilities team. The services will be delivered in line with all relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance appertaining to the field of work. The role will work closely with Estates colleagues and client teams across the Trust and its partner organisations, contributing to the overall management of Water Safety projects, policies/procedures, and Water Safety improvement initiatives.
Mainduties of the job
To be Authorised Person for water ensuring experience, skills and training are in date and in accordance with AEs recommendations. To attend Water Safety Group meetings; monitor and manage Action Plans and provide written verbal updates for H&S Committees. To provide support to the Estate Manager (Mechanical) in the efforts of Water Safety monitoring, management and improvements. To provide professional Water Safety support, ensuring compliance with current statutory requirements, codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures, Water Code and other guidance such as HTM and HBN suite of documents, Regulatory Reform (Water Safety) Order 2005, Building Regulations, British Standards and European Directives.
Identify the Trust’s status in regard to compliance with current Water legislation and guidance, elevate non-conformities and recommend corrective actions, forecasting resources required. Support the Water Safety Group, ensuring meetings are regular and documented.

- Supervise and monitor Water Safety across a range of schemes and healthcare operational activities on behalf of the Estates & Facilities team in the delivery of projects and initiatives, including changes to infrastructure, backlog maintenance, major capital works, minor new works, dilapidation & condition surveys, environmental initiatives and day‑to‑day maintenance issues.
- Contribute to systems and processes for management and delivery of the capital programme as a member of the Estates and Facilities team.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities for initial design input in the preparation of capital projects to deliver effective facilities, which maximise safety and minimise revenue costs and risk.
- Monitor the adherence to the Water Policy, schedules, SOPs, etc., and work to ensure that Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to. Specifically, ensure that contractors working on site do not subvert Water safety of any premises through personal inspections.
- Professional qualification relating to water safety or experience.
- Good education standards.
- Degree level knowledge or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Previous experience in Estates operations.
- Previous experience working with statutory and non‑statutory documentation.
- Appointed person in an HTM discipline.
- Experience in combining practical operational Water Safety, enforcement and risk assessment.
- Experience of working in Water safety within the healthcare sector.
