The Cancer Team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Band 6 Associate Urology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist. This position offers a unique opportunity for a nurse with extensive experience within Urology and/or cancer care to expand clinical skills and contribute to a fully patient‑centred, expanding service.

• Provide specialist, high‑quality nursing care and support for patients and their carers with a urology cancer diagnosis.
• Develop and maintain a caseload of patients and act as the nominated Key Worker from diagnosis or throughout the cancer pathway.
• Deliver evidence‑based, individualised patient care according to changing needs, through holistic needs assessment (HNA).
• Work autonomously and cultivate collaborative relationships across professional boundaries.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of patient pathways and the nursing service.
• Provide expert knowledge and advice in your specialist area, ensuring clinical excellence underpinned by evidence‑based practice.
• Act as a visible role model and expert practitioner.

• Perform an effective key role within the MDT to deliver cancer waiting times targets and pathways communication.
• Act as a specialist resource for patients and the clinical team by providing comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training both within PAHT and externally.
• Update your clinical and specialist knowledge, contribute to audit processes and undertake, where appropriate, nursing research with published outcomes.
• Promote excellence in clinical practice and establish quality standards within the specialty.
• Take an active role in the development of the service locally and nationally.
• Maintain Clinical Excellence.

• Current NMC registration.
• Evidence of post‑registration study.
• BSc in Nursing or related subject, or actively working towards one.

• Experience with in Cancer Services.
• Experience conducting audits.
