Job DescriptionFluor is growing! Our Facilities Operations and Maintenance team is looking for a General Maintenance Technician. The selected applicant will support a variety of activities related to the continued operation of a mission-critical facility including routine maintenance and periodic refurbishment projects. This is a permanent position working a flexible Monday through Friday dayshift.
Responsibilities- Apply safe work practices to all job functions.
- Participate in pre-job briefings on risk assessments, hazard mitigation, and planned work activities.
- Movement of materials using equipment such as hand‑trucks, carts, and manual pallet jacks.
- Installation and modification of modular furniture and associated cable management systems.
- Installation, relocation, and removal of equipment racks.
- Installation and modification of raised flooring tile systems.
- Installation and modification of modular carpet systems.
- Installation and modification of acoustical ceiling tiles and grid.
- Perform basic carpentry tasking.
- Patch, plaster, paint, and decorate walls.
- Perform cleaning of work areas as required.
- Perform access control activities with cleared or uncleared workers according to site security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexible team player with an ability to operate with minimum supervision.
- Must be proficient in the use of hand tools and basic power tools.
- Must be able to work at heights via ladders, scaffolding, powered lift equipment.
- Must be able to work in limited access locations such as raised flooring systems and under desks.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and position items such as furniture and building materials.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Must be able to learn and apply new skills, attending technical training as required.
- Motivated to work to high quality standards with a strong attention to detail.
- City & Guilds/NVQ in Carpentry & Joinery, Plastering, or Painting & Decorating.
- Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active enhanced DV security clearance. This requires UK citizenship.
- Must be authorized to work in the UK.
