Position Title:

Part-Time Veterinary Lab Assistant, CVM Department DeBusk Vet Teaching Center. Position Category:
Staff Part Time.

Job Description:

The Part Time Employee may be assigned to assist in veterinary laboratories, support DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center general functions, and/or aid clinical education and research.

Required Qualifications

Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner. High school diploma. Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or bachelor degree in veterinary technology or related field.

Responsibilities
  • promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large
  • promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
  • maintain proper security for all University files and information and follow privacy procedures at all times
  • maintain records and procedures for duties and responsibilities of position
  • complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites
  • contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, School/College and the Department
  • maintain organized veterinary facilities
  • contribute to effective and safe veterinary equipment
  • preparation, utilization, and maintenance
  • treat all animals humanely, properly, and with compassion at all times, regardless of the situation or circumstance
  • Utilize a learning management system, specifically Blackboard
  • Involve students in research or professional experience as appropriate
  • Assist and motivate veterinary students
  • Participate in preparation for the specific course as instructed by the course coordinator.
  • perform other duties as assigned.
