About the RoleWe are recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established specialist interiors contractor operating across commercial, residential, hotel, and educational sectors. The successful candidate will support the commercial team in delivering accurate cost control and commercial management on a variety of interior fit‑out and specialist subcontract works, including dry lining, partitions, suspended ceilings and associated trades.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with preparation of subcontract enquiries, tender packages and pricing documentation.
- Support measurement and quantification of works from drawings and site information.
- Help prepare cost plans, bills of quantities, estimates and variation valuations.
- Monitor subcontractor pricing and assist with subcontract negotiation and appointment.
- Maintain up-to-date records of costs, variations, procurement and commitments.
- Support monthly valuations and interim applications.
- Assist with commercial reporting, cashflow forecasting and risk reviews.
- Work alongside site and project teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
- Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and health & safety standards.
- Educated to A‑Level or Degree level or equivalent, ideally in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar.
- Experience with in a subcontracting environment or specialist contractor is welcomed but not essential.
- Good understanding of measurement principles and construction documentation.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with cost software is a plus.
- Eager to learn, proactive and commercially aware.
- Exposure to diverse and technically challenging projects across multiple sectors.
