This post is for a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon With a specialist interest in lower limb/hip surgery
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) has an exciting opportunity within the Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery team to appoint one substantive full time (10 PAs) consultant surgeon with a specialist interest in lower limb/hip surgery.
We are looking for an applicant who will work well within a team, have good communication skills and experience in multidisciplinary team working.
RNOH is a national tertiary hospital that provides a comprehensive range of neuro‑musculoskeletal health care, from acute spinal injury and complex bone tumour management to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation. There are extensive services for children, which the Trust plans to expand over the coming years.
The Paediatric Orthopaedic Service is predominately based on the Stanmore site, with all elective surgery completed onsite e outpatient clinics are held at our central London facility on Bolsover Street.
You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC, hold a full Licence to Practice, and be on the specialist register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
Responsibilities- Outpatient clinic work, theatre, inpatient care, teaching, and organisation and planning of lists and registrar timetables.
- Develop a varied range of clinical interests to complement the skills of the existing consultant team in the Catterall unit, supported by the Trust. This includes a specialist interest in Paediatric Hip Surgery.
- Engage in continuing professional development.
- Agree a formal job plan with the Clinical Director on behalf of the Chief Medical Officer before appointment, reviewed annually. The plan covers all aspects of professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education, managerial responsibilities, and a clear schedule of commitments.
- Include personal objectives, links to wider service objectives, and details of support required to fulfil the job plan and objectives.
- Full registration with the GMC/GDC and a full Licence to Practice.
- On the specialist register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
- Specialist interest in lower limb/hip surgery and Paediatric Hip Surgery.
- Experience and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
