About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a long-term cover position at a specialist SEN school and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harrow, Northwest London. The role is for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs. The cover will be needed for a minimum of 6 weeks and could extend further or lead to permanent opportunities.
This PRU serves students aged 5-16 who are unable to attend mainstream schools and supports a small cohort of 35-36 pupils. The school is rated Good by Ofsted and offers a nurturing environment to meet the diverse needs of its learners. We are seeking passionate and experienced support staff to join their team.

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in SEN or SEMH settings
• Strong behaviour management skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to support learning across the primary curriculum
• Creative, hands-on approach to engaging and inspiring learners
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting disengaged students

• Child and Adult DBS (Enhanced Disclosure)
• Right to Work in the UK
• 2 Professional References
