Primary Teacher

Job Description:

Education World is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 4 qualified teacher. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning, inspire pupils, and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

You will fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher in line with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and Teachers’ Standards.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning

* Plan and deliver well-structured lessons following curriculum plans and schemes of work

* Assess, monitor, record and report on pupil progress

* Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of all learners

* Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils

* Promote strong progress and outcomes for children

* Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge

* Prepare pupils for statutory and external assessments

* Support independent learning and inclusive practice

Whole School Contribution

* Support school policies, values and development priorities

* Contribute to the wider school ethos and activities

* Work collaboratively on curriculum and pupil development

Behaviour, Safety & Safeguarding

* Maintain a safe, disciplined learning environment

* Promote pupil wellbeing and positive behaviour

* Work with the DSL to protect pupils’ best interests

Professional Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals

* Communicate effectively with parents and carers

* Uphold professional conduct, attendance and punctuality standards

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Skills & Knowledge

* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum

* Effective teaching and learning strategies

* Understanding of child development and how children learn

* Ability to adapt teaching for diverse needs

* Behaviour management skills

* Good ICT skills to support learning

* Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for pupils

* High expectations for attainment and progress

* Ability to prioritise and work under pressure

* Professional integrity and confidentiality
