SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Harrow

Supply Desk are currently seeking dedicated, compassionate and motivated SEN Learning Support Assistants to join supportive and inclusive schools across the Harrow area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who require additional support and play a key role in helping them achieve both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will help create a positive learning environment where pupils feel supported, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
This role would suit someone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs, who is patient, adaptable and committed to making a difference every day.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs
- Provide tailored support on a 1:1 basis and within small groups as required
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers and external professionals
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and participation in learning
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (preferred)
- Understanding of a range of SEN needs and effective support strategies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Positive behaviour management skills
- Passion for education and supporting young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding
- Primary or secondary school experience (desirable)
- Comprehensive safeguarding training

We offer a £100 referral fee for any successful referrals of friends or colleagues who complete five or more shifts.
