The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and high-quality English Teacher to join the English department at from September 2026.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
, helping students develop their reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Plan and deliver consistently high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach engaging and challenging English Language and Literature lessons that inspire students and develop a genuine love of the subject.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations.
- Develop students' ability to analyse texts, construct well-developed arguments and communicate their ideas confidently.
- Encourage students to read widely and engage with a diverse range of literary texts.
- Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
- Challenge high-achieving students while providing appropriate support and intervention for those who require additional assistance.
- Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and identify areas for development.
- Provide high-quality feedback that enables students to understand how to improve.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, effort and academic achievement.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with students and encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department to develop curriculum resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, assessment, moderation and curriculum development.
- Support enrichment activities and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
- Promote the school's CARE values through classroom practice and interactions with students.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
We are looking for an English Teacher who:
- Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
. - Has strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
- Has experience teaching KS3 and KS4
, ideally including GCSE. - Is passionate about English and committed to inspiring young women to achieve their academic potential.
- Has excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of students.
- Is confident teaching students of different abilities and backgrounds.
