Project Engineer / Senior Site Engineer (6-Month FTC)

In this role, you will be the technical anchor on-site, managing complex engineering elements from deep excavations to reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Technical Oversight: Accurately interpret drawings/specifications, check sub‑contractor setting out, and manage as-built symmetry, retained structures, and piling/tolerance recording.
• Earthworks & Groundworks: Manage deep excavations, stabilisation checks, and cut-and-fill modelling imports.
• Quality & Compliance: Conduct rigorous inspections of all RC elements, approve method statements, monitor compliance, and ensure all health, safety, and quality systems are strictly maintained.

  Provide crucial technical data, re‑measures, and survey deviance reports to the commercial team to support claims and sub‑contractor analysis.
• Reporting & Records: Keep the Project/Contracts Manager fully updated on project status and maintain comprehensive, accurate records for archive.

This role requires a specialist background in complex groundworks and large-scale educational builds. To be successful, you must have:

• CAT 3 Basement Build
  
  Experience:
  
  This is essential. You must have a proven track record dealing with the complexities of Category 3 basement construction.
• Main Contracting Expertise: Significant, demonstrable experience working within the UK main contracting market.
• Education Sector Background: Experience delivering major education schemes valued between £10 million and £100 million

• Sharp Commercial & Tech
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to interface seamlessly with commercial teams, cross‑examine sub‑contractor data, and provide clear technical advice on problem areas.
