PNI Senior Clinical Fellow

The closing date is 08 March 2026

The Peripheral Nerve Injury Fellowship at RNOH provides advanced training in the assessment and management of complex brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries.

These structured programmes offer an unparalleled opportunity to gain extensive experience in surgical and non‑surgical treatments of nerve injuries, working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team at one of the UK's leading nerve injury units.

Fellows participate in operative cases at our Stanmore facility and outpatient clinics in Central London, covering a wide range of nerve conditions including traumatic, obstetric, and iatrogenic nerve injuries. The fellowship emphasises hands‑on learning, from microsurgical techniques to nerve transfers, and offers exposure to innovative treatments in nerve repair and reconstruction.

Research and academic involvement are integral parts of the fellowship, with opportunities to collaborate on clinical studies, present at conferences, and contribute to publications. Fellows benefit from a supportive environment that encourages growth and knowledge sharing, equipping them with the expertise to excel in nerve surgery.

Main duties of the job

The aim of the fellowship is to provide training and research opportunities in PNI surgery over a 12‑month period. This fellowship will provide exposure to all aspects of the management of patients undergoing complex PNI surgery. There will be no on‑call duties. The fellow will work alongside all four PNI Consultants. The post holder alongside the consultant body will be expected to supervise the junior members of the team, as well as attend and help with the outpatient clinics.

They will also be first assistant during surgery. There will be opportunities to be lead surgeon according to your skills. It is anticipated that the post holder will be post FRCS or equivalent. The delivery of high quality patient care is essential and contribution towards the unit’s research and audit activity is actively encouraged. The role will involve working at our Bolsover outpatient facility in Central London.
