We are seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse to join our dynamic and forward‑thinking Radiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high‑acuity, procedure‑based environment delivering safe, effective and patient‑centred care. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures including pre‑assessment, intra‑procedural care and post‑procedure recovery.

You will work closely with other nurses, radiologists, radiographers and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of clinical practice and patient safety. You will be an NMC‑registered nurse with relevant acute, critical care, theatre, endoscopy or interventional experience, strong clinical skills and the ability to lead, support and supervise junior staff. The role includes participation in on‑call services, audit, service development and teaching.

This post offers excellent opportunities for professional development within a supportive team, access to specialist training and the chance to contribute to an expanding interventional radiology service.

  • Undertake patient pre‑assessment, consent checks, and preparation for procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate and implement patient care pre, intra‑procedurally and during recovery, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Administer / prescribe medications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to legal and professional standards.
