Tax Manager - Commercial

A national accounting and advisory firm is expanding its Commercial Tax practice and is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join the team in Hartford.

This is a broad commercial tax opportunity, working with privately held companies, partnerships, corporations and business owners across a variety of industries.

The firm is looking for someone who can take ownership of engagements, manage client relationships and contribute to tax planning beyond annual compliance.

• Manage corporate, partnership and S Corporation tax engagements.
• Review complex federal and state tax returns.
• Advise business clients on tax planning opportunities.
• Assist with multistate tax matters.
• Research technical tax issues and changes in legislation.
• Oversee tax projections and estimated payments.
• Manage engagement staffing, deadlines and budgets.
• Supervise and develop Seniors and Associates.
• Build relationships with business owners and finance teams.
• Work directly with Partners on complex client matters.

• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong commercial tax background.
• Experience with Forms 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
• CPA or EA preferred.
• Previous experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagements.
• Confidence communicating with clients.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
