Position: Financial Clerk (Hybrid) - #251224-3847CL-001

Job Overview

The Financial Clerk works within the Business Office, assisting in processing supply orders, mail, data entry, and maintaining agency files and consumer profile information. The role involves clerical functions and financial recording tasks, including processing daily bank deposits, credit card payments, and general financial record keeping.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation of payroll or independently prepare components of payroll such as shift differential, holidays and overtime.
  • Maintain agency bookkeeping and other financial records.
  • Maintain cash journals and ledgers.
  • Process payments.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and budgets.
  • Balance and reconcile accounts.
  • Review incoming bids for compliance with purchase orders.
  • Prepare reports, handle money or checks, and perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications (General Experience)
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience in accounting, financial record keeping, or bookkeeping.
Substitutions Allowed
  • College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one‑half (1/2) year of experience up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook – Word, Calendar, and Excel.
  • Experience processing bank deposits and account reconciliation.
  • Experience processing credit card payments.
  • Experience with data entry and mail distribution.
Special Requirements
  • Persons responsible for supervising or observing the behavior of inmates or custodial clients must possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification at the time of permanent appointment.
