Senior Market Research Analyst – Hartford, CT Office

Join the HSB – Hartford Steam Boiler team as a Senior Market Research Analyst. The role is based in Hartford, CT, with a hybrid work schedule.

The Market Analyst is responsible for executing, analyzing and authoring a wide range of market research to empower HSB with actionable insights that drive decision‑making. The primary focus areas include trend intelligence, product analysis, competitive intelligence, and innovation insight support. You will interpret information to draw the most actionable and relevant findings, leveraging intuition and analytical skills to deliver objective conclusions to the business.

Under minimal supervision and in partnership with other team members, you will: scoping research topics, gathering information, liaising with business partners and subject‑matter experts, analyzing data, creating reports, and sharing findings internally. You will also help develop and execute product trend frameworks and work with the team to engineer a strategy for proactive thought leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing, Business, or a related field
• Master’s degree is a plus
• 4–6+ years of relevant work experience preferred, based on employment, internships, and extracurricular activity
• Experience conducting market research preferred

• Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
• Good design sensibilities for effective PowerPoint presentations
• Proficient in data analysis and/or statistical techniques
• Excellent organization, communication, and project‑management skills
• Ability to present and communicate effectively to internal business partners
• Experience with statistical or data‑analysis software preferred
• Background in industry and business trend analysis preferred
• Experience in market research preferred
