JWC Steel Co., a leading structural and miscellaneous metals contractor, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our sales and client relations team. Based onsite at our Connecticut location, this full‑time role is ideal for a self‑motivated, results‑driven individual with deep experience in takeoffs and bid development for commercial and industrial steel projects. • Review bid invitations from general contractors and identify project scope.
• Perform material and labor take‑offs from structural and architectural drawings.
• Develop and submit bid proposals accurately and on time.
• Track and prepare change orders as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain close communication with general contractors and internal departments.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings when required.

• 5+ years of experience in steel estimating and takeoffs (structural and miscellaneous metals).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and structural plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be dependable, resourceful, and highly motivated.
• Competitive hourly rate ($45–$55+/hr).
• Performance bonuses based on results.
• Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for work‑related travel.
• Stipend for medical coverage.
• Per diem for travel to project sites.
• Bi‑weekly pay cycle.
• Stability with a full‑time, long‑term position.

Full‑time:
Monday – Friday.

Hours:

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Overtime as needed.

Onsite in Connecticut. Some travel to project sites may be required (with per diem).
