Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position Title:
Electrical Estimator
Join a growing electrical contractor where estimating means more than putting numbers on a page. This Electrical Estimator will own complex bids from initial takeoff and budgeting through proposal development, addendums, scope meetings, and revisions, with a strong focus on mission-critical and healthcare projects.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical estimating experience, understands the complexity of active healthcare environments, and can manage competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $180,000 / annually, DOE
Responsibilities
- Manage electrical estimates from initial takeoff through final bid submission for complex commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical projects
- Perform detailed takeoffs, develop material and labor pricing, establish project buys, and prepare comprehensive bid proposals
- Support front-end budgeting, design development, and preconstruction efforts in partnership with general contractors and construction managers
- Manage post-bid activity, including addendums, scope questions, clarification requests, scope meetings, and bid revisions
- Estimate projects commonly ranging from approximately $1M to $7M while balancing multiple active deadlines and shifting priorities
- Identify inconsistencies within plans and specifications, communicate questions, and participate in occasional project site walks when necessary
- For senior-level candidates, mentor estimators, strengthen estimating processes, and help drive continuous improvement across the department
Requirements
- 4+ years of electrical estimating experience for junior-level consideration, or 5+ years for senior-level consideration
- Proven experience managing the full electrical estimating lifecycle, from takeoff and pricing through bid development and submission
- Strong knowledge of electrical terminology, construction documents, project scope, labor requirements, and material pricing
- Experience managing addendums, revisions, scope questions, and competing bid deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and produce accurate, detailed estimates without extensive oversight
- Strong preference for experience estimating mission-critical, healthcare, hospital, post-acute care, MRI, or similarly complex electrical projects
- Senior-level candidates should demonstrate experience mentoring estimators, overseeing estimating activities, or improving departmental processes
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Employer HSA contribution
- 401(k)/Roth plan with company match
- Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays
- Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance, with voluntary life and disability coverage available
- Employee Assistance Program providing mental health, family, legal, financial, and wellness resources
- Potential hybrid flexibility of up to two remote days per week, based on team needs and collaboration requirements
