The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and skilled at collaborating with others to produce engaging content across all platforms.

• Evaluate daily content to highlight strong pieces ideal for social media distribution.
• Actively participate in the daily editorial meetings to stay aligned with newsroom priorities.
• Partner closely with the dayside Executive Producer and Director of Multiplatform Content to ensure alignment across all platforms.
• Collaborate with our journalists to maximize content creation on multiple platforms.
• Provide guidance to the newsroom staff, including on‑air talent, to strengthen digital storytelling.
• Pitch compelling social stories and segments that align with NBC Connecticut’s news strategy.
• Serve as the primary resource for social media onboarding.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining high standards.
• Develop, curate, and manage published content across various social media platforms, including Tik Tok, Facebook, and Instagram.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a newsroom or similar setting.
• 1–3 years experience using editing software such as Adobe Premiere.
• Minimum 1 year experience with social editing tools, such as Cap Cut and Instagram Edits.
• 1–3 years experience in analytics and reporting social media statistics.

• Degree in Journalism or a specialization in multi‑media.
• Knowledge of trending stories on social platforms using analytics and SEO functions.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• An active role in the editorial process.
• Pioneering spirit with a desire and urgency to learn emerging technologies and invest in the future.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

• Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift.
• Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
• This position is required to be performed full‑time from an NBCUniversal designated worksite.
