Surgery - General Physician

We are seeking an experienced Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician to provide hospital-basedcoverage at a Level I Trauma Center in Hartford, Connecticut. This position offers a diverse and complex case mix with full inpatient responsibilities across the OR, ICU, ER, and hospital floors.

Compensation: $2800 Per Day

Position Details

• Practice Setting: Hospital-based (Inpatient, OR, ICU, ER, and floor rounding)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:00 PM
• Call Coverage:
• Nights and weekends (rotational)
• Approximately 7-8 calls per month
• Call shared among 3 providers
• Average Volume: 2 cases per day
• Trauma Designation: Level I Trauma Center
• Annual ER Volume: Approximately 85,000 visits

Required Procedures

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), including Off-Pump CABG
• Arterial Revascularization (Internal Mammary, Radial, and Gastroepiploic Arteries)
• Redo Coronary Revascularization
• Descending and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Heart Valve Repair and Replacement
• Mitral Valve Repair
• Core Valve System procedures
• Tube Thoracostomy
• Pericardial Window

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care across inpatient units
• Perform operative cases and manage postoperative patients
• Provide ICU coverage and rounding on ER and floor patients
• Participate in night and weekend call coverage as scheduled
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Connecticut medical license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center preferred
