Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist

Hartford Health Care seeks a Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist to join the Heart and Vascular Institute team at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. In this role, you will provide comprehensive pre- and postoperative care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiogenic shock. You will collaborate with a highly trained, collegial team of advanced practitioners and fellows while engaging in educational and leadership opportunities.

Practice Info

• Practice at Hartford Hospital within the Heart and Vascular Institute
• The cardiac surgery service performs approximately 1,500 surgeries per year
• The Advanced Heart Failure Service is one of the largest in New England, averaging 40 heart transplants a year
• The critical care unit is staffed with highly trained advanced practitioners and fellows

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease including pre- and postoperative care, heart transplant, Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), acute mechanical circulatory support, and cardiogenic shock
• Participate in and pursue leadership opportunities within the ECMO program based on experience
• Educate and mentor APPs, cardiology fellows, critical care fellows, residents, and interns
• Place chest tubes and perform bronchoscopy and emergent intubations

Qualifications

• BC/BE Critical Care Medicine
• Cannulation experience preferred but not required
• Strong cardiac interest and experience
