Job Description:
The Department of Psychology at the University of Hartford is seeking a part‑time non‑tenure‑track instructor on a term‑limited contract to develop and teach a synchronous in‑person course in the Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) program from January 17 to May 8 2024. Synchronous in‑person classes are offered on the Main Campus in West Hartford once a week from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Possible topics include Teams in Organizations, Workplace Training, Organizational Consulting and Professional Practice, and Motivation.
Our graduate courses are usually capped at 20 students to allow for greater engagement. The MSOP program attracts a diverse group of learners that includes part‑time and full‑time students, as well as those who come from outside the U.S. In your diversity statement and letter of intent, please describe your approach to teaching and advising students from BIPOC populations.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach the designated MSOP course on a term‑limited contract.
- Deliver synchronous in‑person instruction weekly and build an inclusive learning environment.
- Design assessments, provide constructive feedback, and manage class participation.
- Advise and support students, particularly those from BIPOC and first‑generation backgrounds.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to uphold the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a closely related field.
- Preference will be given to candidates with industry experience or comparable teaching experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, including experience with inclusive pedagogy, culturally responsive teaching, and evidence of anti‑racist values and actions.
- Ability to articulate teaching approaches that meet the needs of diverse student populations, particularly BIPOC students.
